These software/SaaS and life sciences companies are either start-up or growth stage and looking to translate solutions to the market and scale company progress.   

Revenue: Companies generally have an established customer base and annual revenue between $0.5M-$3.0M base and are looking to broaden their impact and achieve greater scale and profitability.

Geography: KALEX focuses on the Southeast but invests and advises opportunistically across the US.

David Bodel, Managing Director

Dave brings experience as a management consultant and member of senior leadership of hospitals and health system for 27 years. During this time, his primary focus has been evaluating and executing milestone decisions and strategic investments. This has given him a deep understanding of the critical issues facing the healthcare system and a unique perspective from which to aide early stage companies offering solutions in these areas. His passion for innovation and action bring energy and creative thinking to all that he does. Dave has formed new operating and joint venture companies, planned and executed large market growth and development investments, and developed systems for c-suite evaluation and prioritization of system investments.

He brings an urgency to making the healthcare system work smarter and more efficiently, rooting out waste and making healthcare more responsive to patients and easier for healthcare professionals. Dave has a deep personal curiosity and is a creative communicator, able to bring fresh ideas, approaches and techniques to understanding a situation and aggressively solving problems. His network of personal relationships serves as an asset in connecting needs with solutions and creating strategic partnerships of mutual benefit.

Dave received his BS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University.
